The Pugneys Pipit

Something different! I finally decided to get off my backside and nip down to Pugneys to have a look at the Blyth's Pipit in the New Year. I've not 'grilled' one of these since a trip to China a few years ago, and to be honest I never got enthused about them, mostly because there was much more engaging quarry to seek i.e. male Siberian Thrush, for example! Anyway, what a superb find this was! I'm an envious man!
Not having the time (or the temperatures!) to sketch in the field, I made a quick drawing from memory straight after some excellent views of the bird on the grassy embankment across from the police station, and then later tried to 'immortalize it'! You can tell I don't do many passerines! It was an engaging experience anyway. I think I went a bit overboard with the yellow ochre, but then...
