After an absent few weeks I'll attempt to update this blog with a bit more regularity - again! Been spending some of the terribly short weekends down sheltering in the hide at Old Moor. I'd much prefer to be out in the open but this time of year once my hands become cold it becomes simply impossible to draw, so it's kind of making do.
Lots of wildfowl to sketch, including male shovelers, which have cracking colour combinations, and that bill's a real challenge! This preening drake was obliging enough for me to get a few quick sketches down. The finished work is much better than my last shovelers (too embarrassing to show here!). My attempts at convincing water seems to be improving too!
