Central Asia Re-visited Part One!

Whilst I plug away at subjects closer to home, here's an effort from my sketchbook from 2013, before I started using coloured pencil. I  visited Central Asia in May that year and needless to say it was superb bird-filled trip, which I hope to re-live over the coming months. I can only get quick half-decent sketches of passerines when they're up singing, as this Savi's Warbler was doing at the time. A lifer ( although I'd heard the song in Spain years before ), this bird was very obliging, although it didn't remain motionless! Had to be careful to avoid the dreaded 'Easter Chicken' bill - easily done when drawing a bird in song! BTW - I know about the under-tail coverts!
Cheers
