The setting sun at Old Moor provides some lovely light combinations. A couple of week ago I was putting in a few hours with the lapwings and became suddenly inspired by the glowing shoreline contrasting with the dark, sepia-like mud. Who do I think I am, Lars Jonsson? In my wildest dreams, of course! I wanted to capture a Lappy about to garb a morsel, so produced this sketch from several others to make my drawing. And I reckon it works - to a point! My appreciation and understanding of those lovely green and olive tones on the birds' backs is growing. Here's a mix of olive green, pine green and sap green. Enough! I sound like an artist!
This one's just about good enough for a bird report if anyone's watching.
