Wave Rider

The object here is to try to develop more convincing water! It's not an exciting or dramatic piece but I reckon it's an improvement on what's gone before. The gull's not terribly accurate but that's not important - it's getting the waves to look like waves. The Herring Gull was quickly sketched, whilst a lot more study went into trying to 'devolve' the choppy conditions! About 10 layers of pencil were used to get this effect, and it has shown me something like what I'm hoping to achieve. All lovely blues, greys and greens! Apart from taking photos, I reckon the only way is close observation and hours and hours of practice. Oh, the odd tuition wouldn't go amiss either!
Thanks for looking
