On Parade!

Sticking with the gull theme, here's a small piece evoking memories from my trip to Central Asia in 2013. Pallas's Gulls! Who can resist these! One of my abiding memories was watching a group of c.170 birds on an island on one of the many lakes on the steppe. Amazingly, every bird was a corking summer-plumaged adult! Not one tatty sub-adult or one even coming into breeding finery. These are simply one of the best gull on God's green earth, and always a highlight of any trip. Such beasts merit something much more involving than this, but drawing these has given me more ideas. Watch this space!
Thanks for looking
