Muddy Hell!

Ignore the egret, pay attention to the mud! I continue to experiment with different papers and techniques in the hope of capturing birds and their habitat more convincingly. As simple as it may look, I find it difficult to suggest a muddy shoreline without over-doing it. This particular pic idea arose from a sketch a couple of weeks ago on a sunny afternoon down Old Moor. The wet mud in the background was 'glistening' and 'sparkling' in the sunlight, so the idea was to try to capture it as such! Has it worked? Not sure! The Little Egret was drawn from one of the few successful sketches I made from dozens of efforts. It's the neck that makes 'em b****y difficult!
I just used simple heavy cartridge paper for this, and approx. 20 layers of CP.
Now for the next effort!
Thanks for looking.
